Complete user guide of AST Android SMS Transfer. In this article, you will get details about:

: Go to the download page, you will see two options for you: Personal Edition and Family Edition.

Personal Edition allows you to manage SMS for personal use. The register code sent to you enables you to run AST Android SMS Transfer on ONLY one Android phone;

Family Edition provides support for up to 5 persons. The register code sent to you allows you to run AST Android SMS Transfer on 5 Android phones simultaneously.

Choose the edition you need. Under each edition, you will see a Windows and Mac version available. If you need to transfer and backup Android SMS on Windows computer, click to download the Windows one, otherwise, choose the Mac one for Mac computer.

: After you download this program on your computer, you will get a zip file named as “androidsmstransfer”. Decompress it, and you will see two folders contained in it: “PC Port” and “Phone Port”.

To install AST Android SMS Transfer on your mobile phone, transfer the AST Android SMS Transfer.apk file contained in “Phone Port” to your Android phone via USB cable or Bluetooth. Now navigate to the location of the .apk file on your phone, click to install it. When the installation is finished, choose to run it. (Note: If you need to backup and restore SMS from one Android phone to another, you need to install this program on both of your mobile phones.)

To install AST Android SMS Transfer on your computer, just double-click the installation package contained in “PC Port”. (Note: This is for use if you need to backup or edit the SMS on your computer.)

: After placing an order, you will receive a registration email from us, in which you can find registration info as the form below:

If you haven’t received it, please check your Spam box in case it is there or contact us for support. Input the Regname and Regcode to the corresponding place, and you will successfully register the program on your mobile phone. After the registration, there will be no limitation to the amount of SMS that can be transferred.

: Run this program on your Android phone. On the main interface, you will see two options for you: Backup SMS and Restore SMS.

To backup Android SMS, click “Backup SMS”, then you will see a popup window which hints you to input a file name for the file backed up, ignore it if you want to use the default name. Click “OK”, and your Android text messages will be automatically saved to the SD card in .db file.

To restore Android SMS, click “Restore SMS”. Then choose the .db file stored in your phone and click “OK”. The restoring may take different time according to the amount of messages you restore. There is a process bar which shows you how many messages have already been restored. When it’s finished, a popup window will show you “SMS restored successfully”. After that, you will see all the SMS in your phone mailbox.

: Transfer the .db file you backed up on Android phone to your computer in either possible ways. Run Android SMS Transfer on your computer (installed from the “PC Port”). Click “File” then “Import” to load the .db file into this software.

Edit: All the text messages that you backup will be presented to you as what you see in your phone with folders like Inbox, Sentbox, Drafts, Outbox, etc. You can directly edit the text messages by clicking on them. You can change the Number, Content, Date of a message, or delete it anyway.

Search: Searching messages with keywords is possible with this software. Input a certain keyword, and press “Query” button, all the messages that match the keyword will be listed for you automatically.

Export & Print: After you finish all the editing jobs, you can export the SMS in CSV or TXT format for permanently store. Meanwhile, you can choose to print out the SMS on paper by clicking “Print” button.
